November Glossybox!

Hola people!

Admittedly, my November Glossybox review is late. However, my box arrived a lot later than expected so I obviously couldn't do the review with no products to show you! Haha.

So...Here we are! Novembers Glossybox! :)

When opening the box, this envelope was abundantly obvious. I discovered it was an invitational £20 gift voucher to join a site called Best Secret. Personally, the website isn't to my taste or affordability. And while I was slightly excited that I could buy something for £20, I was mistaken as it was only valid if you spent a minimum of £60! So...yeah. Not entirely impressed with that.

The products:

MONU Skincare Soothing Hawaii Facial Oil
Lollipops Makeup Eye Pencil
Burt's Bees Lip Shine
H2o+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment
Natural World
Coconut Water Hydration & Shine Weightless Hair Oil

Two products I love from Novembers Glossybox and will definitely buy again are Burt's Bees Lip Shine and the Natural World Coconut Water Hair Oil. The lip shine was my saviour seeing as I've been suffering from chapped and dry lips due to having a cold these past few weeks. It feels just like a lip gloss on your lips and while I'm not a big fan of lip gloss, it is amazing stuff. After just one time using it, it made my lips feel super soft and it started to combat the cracks.
The Natural World hair oil is pretty darn good too! I used it on the ends of my hair while it was damp and used the hairdryer as normal. It definitely did what it says on the bottle; leaves hair beautifully hydrated, soft and shiny.

I've yet to try the other 3 products, however if they're truly amazing, I'll more than likely do a blog post on their brilliance. :P

I hope you enjoyed reading this short Glossybox review!
Until next time, Rock On!

Claire's Accessories Christmas Jewellery Haul!

Hola people!

A short post for you today! As the title suggests, I went to Claire's Accessories lately and totally freaked out at the awesome Christmas jewellery they have in store. Also, I'm not sure if this deal is present in all Claire's stores but I got a deal which is 5 items for £3! WHOOP WHOOP!
If you haven't already guessed...jewellery is my kryptonite.
I have 3 large jewellery stands, 2 big jewellery boxes and 2 small ones. I can't help it! I'm just drawn to it!

Anyway...here's what I bought:

 So preeeeetty!
I previously bought a HUGE pair of proper Christmas bauble earrings last year in Claire's that I'd been after for a while and last year I also bought a Christmas Badge which is wonderfully festive in the colours Green and Red!
I believe they have both of these in store this year too.

I have to say, I've always loved Claire's Accessories. When I was 9 and first got into that punky/ gothic "I LOVE SKULLS" stage, Claire's was where I (and family) practically bought all of my jewellery. They used to have a huge section of beautiful punk and gothic items. It has dwindled significantly in recent years, but rest assured, if there is a gorgeous black piece with skulls on in there...i'll find it!

Seeing as I'm talking about Christmas jewellery, I thought I'd show some items I have from previous years. Some are from Primark and others from Asda! :)

If you happen to go into Claire's Accessories yourself this Christmas, let me know what you bought and if you bought the same as me! :)

Find me on Twitter

Until the next post...Rock on!

Christmas Tag!

*sings* It's the moooost won-der-ful tiiiiiiime, of the yeeeeeeear!

Hola people!

I was tagged, once again from the fabulous Louise over on LouiseBloggs to do a Christmas Tag! Thanks Louise! :D
It's without a doubt, the best time of year and I go CRAZY when the festivities start!
Although I absolutely love Halloween, the happiness and joy that Christmas brings will always be the best time of the year in my opinion.

So, lets begin the questions!

Q1. What are your favourite Christmas Movies?
A: I have so many! I'd say that pretty much all of them are much loved by a wide populace though.

White Christmas
The Grinch
The Santa Clause
Love Actually
The Holiday
Muppets Christmas Carol
The Nightmare Before Christmas!
See...too hard to just pick one. :P

Q2: Do you open your Christmas presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

A: It's a tradition in my family to open one small present on Christmas Eve before we go to bed! Just so we can keep our excitement tamed a little! Haha
It started when my mum decided to let my brother do it when he was little as the excitement of it Christmas Day the next day was clearly too much to handle. Lol!
Now, my sister does it with her children too!
Other than that, we all open our presents on Christmas morning! I feel so sorry for those who have to wait until after dinner to open them. Torture I tell you!

Q3: Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

A: There are lots of memories that come to mind about Christmas (as there would be) but I think one of my most remembered memories is last year when my partner Scott and I spent our first Christmas together - not actually on the 25th but on the 20th instead. We couldn't see each other on the day as some of his family had come a long way to see him and his parents, so we agreed to have our own Christmas Day to ourselves and spend the 25th with our families. Despite being together as a couple for just 3 months, (though, we were friends for a long while before that) it was incredibly special and he bought me amazing gifts! Things that truly meant a lot to me.

A favourite childhood memory that I have is the year I got my bike. In 2005 I think it was(aged 10), I learnt to ride a bike! So, for that Christmas I desperately wanted a 'big girl's bike'. Specifically a purple and silver one with awesome gears that I'd seen in Toys R US when my mother mysteriously took me there to look at bikes... ;)
Come Christmas Day, I didn't open any present that looked like a bike, so as a kid, I thought Santa hadn't brought me one. However, when I was clearing up my shrredded wrapping paper, my mum told me there was one more present to open, but I could only have it if I managed to find it! I set off hunting the house only to finally see a long box behind the sofa...and it was my bike! Trust me, it sounds weird that I missed a huge box hiding behind the sofa, however the box wasn't very deep and the bike had to be assembled! Lol So, that answers that question ;)

Q4: Favourite festive food?

A: Besides a Roast Dinner (NOM NOM NOM) I love having sausage rolls at Christmas. I can fondly remember standing at the kitchen worktop with my mum, using a pastry brush to put milk onto the frozen sausage rolls and having them for breakfast whenever we want - alongside lots of nibbles!

Q5: Favourite Christmas Gift?

A: I've been so lucky every year to receive such amazing gifts. One of the best has to be a ring that my mum got me one year. Another would be a book on skulls that my sis got! It's so perfect for me! And a fab one from Scott would be my Heath Ledger filmcell display of him as The Joker. He's my favourite actor (I'll have you know, he was my favourite before his Joker role) and I adored him. Scott knows just how much I love him and so the filmcell display containing 10 filmcells from the actual film 'The Dark Knight' is amazing to me. I can not tell you how excited I was to be holding something so unique and personal to me! :)

Q6: Favourite Christmas scent?
A: Hmmmm. This may sound weird, but the smell of tinsel is a winner with me. Feel free to call me a weirdo as you'd be right ;)
I don't particularly like the smell of cinnamon which seems to be everywhere when Chrsitmas arrives! I also love the smell of baked sausage rolls at Christmas. As I mentioned before, they bring back fond memories and they taste great too!

Q7: Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
A: Apart from opening a small present each before we go to bed on Christmas Eve - I can't really think of any other traditions. The child in me, still likes to leave a glass of milk and a mince pie out as it's such a cute thing to do. Seeing as there are no little ones in my house, it can be a little boring without the excitement that children bring at Christmas. Only now, I'm aware that Scott (who's initials ALSO happen to be S.C! ;)) is the one who drinks the milk and has the mince pie. Piggy <3

Q8: What tops your tree?
A: Since I have been decorating the tree (and not my mum so much), we have a sparkly star on top! When I was younger and didn't dare step toward the tree when it was being decorated, my mum preferred an Angel on top. Usually one with a huge dress, big wings and would likely fall off 5 times a day. ;)

Q9: As a child what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
A: 1) A fez. Not a Turkish one, an Egyptian one (VERY important detail). I didn't get a fez for Christmas, but I got one when Scott and I became a couple. He proudly presented me with one when he came to my Sisters wedding. Awwww ;)
2) A dog! (Come on, what child doesn't ask for a dog?!)
3) Disney Monopoly. I didn't get this at the time, as it was too expensive for my mum to afford, which is ok, because I got many other amazing presents every year! :)

Q10: What is the best part about Christmas for you?
A: When all the family come together, whether it be on Christmas Day or near it. I love it! I love my niece and nephew dearly and all of us have a hilarious time when together. Also, one of my other favourite parts is buying presents for people and wrapping them! I love wrapping presents and making them look amazing!

Sooooo, that's my Christmas Tag!

Makeup Revolution Haul!

Hola people!

Through recently discovering Makeup Revolution online at Superdrugs, I headed to their website and was amazed at the brilliant quality of their products and just how affordable they are. The have everything that is essential to your make-up bag and also many wonderful eye-shadow palettes and extras. So, here is my new Makeup Revolution Haul!
*picture heavy post coming up*

Products & Prices:

In order to qualify for Free Shipping, you have to buy £30 worth or more...so I did! I didn't originally intend to buy many things, but I got a little carried away once I saw all the fabulous items ;)

I'd seen many amazing reviews on the Give Them Nightmares palette and considering my love for dark things and purple being my favourite colour, I had to buy this! The cover is beautiful and the shades of eyeshadow are so beautifully gothic. When I look at the palette, it makes me think of Maleficent, as so many of the colours are key to her look. One of my favourite Disney characters and of course, a major hit this year with the new Angelina Jolie movie version. I think it's an essential to any makeup lovers bag.

I'm so over the moon that Makeup Revolution offer such wonderful lipsticks and only at £1 each! You so can't complain at that.
I bought two shades - Black Heart and Serpent. The names are self explanatory to the colours. I've always been a lipstick girl. I don't tend to like gloss very much as I find it...well, too glossy! LOL
These give your lips a very moisturised feel and last a long time on your lips. An all around perfect lipstick I'd say!

Now, a lip lacquer I've never tried. But THIS. Omg this! It's BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE IT! It goes on as a gloss and dries as a matte. It stayed on, literally for about 11 hours!! Not once did it smudge, or flake. SO impressed with it. I shall be buying many more of these in future. The shade is perfect too and has since become one of my favourite ones to use. I used to feel conscious wearing dark lipsticks (even though I love them) seeing as I have plumpish lips. But I think the colour looks very flattering! :P

This is the first time I've ever bought a Brow Kit. I've never been too keen on HD brows, so mine look quite minimal compared to most! Haha. But I thought, at £2.50, why not?! Bargain price and I can teach myself how to get more defined eyebrows. From what I've used of the powders, they're very light and the mini brush you get to apply it with is very handy, though I feel the bristles could do with being a lot thinner to get a more precise line.

Bronzer. Another thing I'm not overly obsessed about, but I didn't have one in my make-up bag so I got one. Despite it's dark-ish colour, it actually goes on quite lightly which is great seeing as I would only need a little for my fair-ish skin. It flips out, and has a lovely mirror and circular sponge in the back to keep it nice and compact :)

So, considering I'm into facepaint and creating fun looks with it, I took a look at The One Foundation from Makeup Revolution and thought, that shade 1 being pure white, could be a brilliant alternative to caking on the white facepaint when I'm facepainting. The bottle needs a good ol' shake before applying and does come out quite runny. However, it applies beautifully and gives you very good coverage! I've yet to try building it up with layers and other makeup or facepaint on top, but I can tell that it'll be easy to work with in future. Hell yeeeeeeah. They do 16 shades, so be sure to check out the range!

Now, the eye dust, I bought specifically for a winter themed look I'm hoping to do in December! Shhh, I didn't just tell you that. ;)
It's exactly what it says and looks like. A shimmer powder. Can't get more self explanatory than that! £1 a bottle and I can imagine, a little will go a long way! I've yet to try this also, but will of course be mentioning it again once I have.

And last, but certainly not least....the Defence Anti Bacterial Serum and Primer! This is lovely stuff. Applied just before putting makeup on, it primes your face ready to keep your makeup in place (ha! That rhymed!) and has done a brilliant job on me so far. It doesn't particulaly smell of anything, so you're all good there. I tend to find, face creams that have a strong smell make ones eyes water a lot. Not good when wanting flawless eye makeup ;) And a little goes a long way I find. I have noticed a difference on how my makeup stays on, being that it stays put! Seeing as my skin is dry in some areas and oily in others, this primer has helped both problems. It stops the oily-ness coming through (as does my makeup) but also hydrates those problematic dry patches. A must have primer for your makeup bag I reckon!

So...that's about it! I thoroughly enjoyed unwrapping these items within my parcel and can't wait to buy more new things from Makeup Revolution. If you've used any of these products, let me know what you cherished or despised. Don't forget, links to the exact products are in pink. Go click crazy!

Until the next post, Rock On!
